Windows 10 Version 2004 Continues Creeping Towards Release
Microsoft completed developing new features for Windows 10 version 2004 back in December, but it’s been updating the code with quality updates ever since. On Thursday evening, Microsoft released the third such update and pushed version 2004 into the Windows Insider Slow ring, another milestone on the way to its pending public release.
“We’re releasing [Windows 10] 20H1 Build 19041.113 (KB4540409) to Windows Insiders in the Slow ring,” the Microsoft announcement notes. “This Cumulative Update [sic] includes [only] quality improvements.”
Those improvements include such minor matters as updating the copyright date to the year 2020, and fixing some connectivity issues that are specific to the Surface Pro X and related to sign-in and sign-out. Nothing major, basically.
This week’s update is at least the third cumulative update that Microsoft has issued since the product was finalized in late 2019. Previous CUs were released in mid-January and mid-February. And earlier this week, Microsoft released the ISOs for Windows 10 version 2004.
