Amazon Luna is Now Available on Android
When it launched in early access in October, Amazon’s Luna game streaming service was available on Fire TVs, Windows PCs, Macs, and iPhone/iPad, leaving Android, the world’s biggest digital platform, notably absent. Last night, however, Amazon revealed that that’s about to change.
“You won’t have to wait very long for Android support (or, like, at all),” the Luna team tweeted. “Play Luna with early access now.”
The tweet points to the Luna page on Amazon’s website, where interested users can sign-up to be included in the early access program. That site notes that Luna can be used on “select Android phones” once you get into the program. And another page explains which phones: Pixel 4XL, 4a, 4a 5G, and 5; Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+, Note 10, Note 10+, S20 5G, S20+ 5G, S20 Ultra 5G, Note 20; and OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7 Pro 5G, 8, 8 Pro, Nord, 7T, 7T Pro, and 7T Pro 5G.
Oddly enough, I think that Luna uses a web app on Android, just as it does on iPhone and iPad. (I don’t have access to the service to be sure.) The site notes that it requires “Chrome web browser version 86+” on Android.
