Yes, the Xbox One S does seem to be in a perpetual state of rotating sales and other promotions. New this week: Buy a 1 TB Xbox One S bundle and get a bonus game of your choice.

“There’s no better time to buy an Xbox One S, the ultimate games and 4K entertainment system,” the Microsoft announcement notes incorrectly, since holiday-timed sales are often the most lucrative. “Enjoy summer than with a new console and a free game.”

This offer is available at the Microsoft Store, online and at retail, of course, but also at Amazon, Target, GameStop, Best Buy, Walmart.com, and other participating retailers.

Beyond that, I’m having trouble finding the fine print. For example, I know the sale started yesterday, on Sunday, July 23, 2017. But I can’t find a date for the end of the sale, and Microsoft’s announcement doesn’t mention such a thing.

Microsoft does say that the free game can be any game. “Pick up Battlefield 1 and experience the dawn of all-out war, ” the announcement notes. “Or, own Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and experience an unfolding large-scale war and epic battles that deliver an authentic Call of Duty experience.” Good job picking out two first person shooters as the only examples.

Anyway, if you look at the Xbox website, you’ll find the following 1 TB consoles:

Xbox One S Forza Horizon 3 Bundle (1 TB). Includes Xbox One S 1 TB console, Xbox Wireless controller, Forza Horizon 3, at $349.

Xbox One S Battlefield 1 Special Edition Bundle (1 TB). Includes Military Green 1 TB console, Military Green Wireless Controller, Xbox Military Green stand, Battlefield 1 Early Enlister Deluxe Edition, and 1 month EA Access for $349.

Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Bundle (1 TB). Includes Xbox One S 1 TB console, Xbox Wireless controller, and Gears of War 4 for $349.

Xbox One S Halo Wars 2 Bundle (1 TB). Includes Xbox One S 1TB console, Xbox Wireless controller. Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition, and Halo Wars 2: Season Pass I Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, at $349.

Also, it’s not clear how this offer is impacted by other offers. For example, when you buy any Xbox One S bundle from the Microsoft Store between November 29, 2016 and July 31, 2017, you get a free copy of the game The Crew too. I guess.
