Google Kills Its AI-powered Automatic Camera
Remember Google Clips? Google’s weird little camera that used machine learning to capture moments of your life. The $249 camera was a peculiar product from Google, considering it was only used for taking pictures automatically, and the fact that it was made by Google, which isn’t particularly well known for privacy.
Well, Google Clips is now dead. 9to5Google reports that Google has quietly taken off Clips from the Google Store, meaning users are no longer able to purchase one. And to be honest, no one really wanted to spend $249 on a camera that didn’t do much at all.
Google Clips isn’t the only thing Google is killing off, though. With the launch of its new hardware, the company is also killing off the Daydream View, and the original Pixel Buds. The departure of the latter is a bit weird considering the new Pixel Buds don’t launch till early 2020.
