History and Open Tabs Sync is Coming to Microsoft Edge
Some users are reporting that the stable version of Microsoft Edge can now sync browser history and open tabs between PCs and devices. With this addition, Microsoft’s browser will finally support the full suite of syncing functionality almost exactly one year after its initial release.
To be clear, I’m not seeing this on my own PCs running the stable version (87) of Microsoft Edge. But I’ve confirmed that multiple users are seeing it on this same version, which suggests this is a cloud-based change that Microsoft can toggle remotely. (Here’s one example.)
You can find the sync interface in Edge by navigating to Settings and more (“…”) > Profiles > Sync. Here, I see that Favorites, Settings, Addresses and more, Passwords, Extensions, and Collections can all be configured to sync between the desktop and mobile versions of Edge. But two items, History and Open tabs, are currently grayed-out, with “Coming soon” notes.
It seems like this could change in the coming days, so I’ll keep my eye on it.
