Windows 10 version 2004 was finalized in December and it still hasn’t been released to customers. But Microsoft keeps updating it.

If you’re keeping score at home, yes, this is the 7th cumulative update—meaning a package of bug and security fixes—that Microsoft has issued since completing this Windows version. It’s also the second such cumulative update that Microsoft has issued for this release in the past week, for some reason.

Anyway, it’s not particularly exciting, but since yesterday was Patch Tuesday, I think it’s safe to assume that Windows 10 version 2004 won’t head out to customers publicly until May.

Here’s what Microsoft fixed:

• An issue that causes the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service (rpcss.exe) to close unexpectedly and the PC stops working, forcing the user to restart the PC.
• an issue that causes the Device Enrollment Status Page (ESP) on managed PCs to stop responding if a policy that requires a restart is installed on the PC.
• An issue that might prevent the rear camera flash from functioning as expected on PCs that have a rear camera.

In addition, this cumulative update also includes the latest security updates to the Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Kernel, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Media, Windows Shell, Windows Management, Windows Cloud Infrastructure, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Authentication, Windows Virtualization, Windows Core Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Update Stack, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine, the firm notes.
