Microsoft: Xbox Game Pass Has More Than 10 Million Subscribers
Microsoft today reported its earnings for FYQ3 2020. The company reported a 15% increase in revenue year-over-year, with impressive growth in revenue across the board. And although its Gaming business saw a 1% decline in revenue, the company is reporting some impressive new milestones for Xbox.
Microsoft did report a 2% increase in revenue from Xbox content and services due to increase engagement caused by COVID-19 stay-at-home guidelines. During the earnings call, however, Microsoft reported that Xbox Live now has nearly 90 million monthly active users.
That’s nearly a 42.8% increase in the number of monthly active users year-over-year for Xbox Live, as it had 63 million monthly active users a year ago.
More importantly, Microsoft said Xbox Game Pass now has more than 10 million subscribers, which is certainly a major milestone. The company also said its Project xCloud game streaming service has “hundreds of thousands of users” actively testing its new service.
CEO Satya Nadella said Xbox has experienced “all-time” record engagement in Q3 due to the high demand caused by more people staying at home.
