OnePlus announced today that it will debut its next flagship, the OnePlus 8T, on October 14 at 10 am ET via a virtual launch event.

“OnePlus is always looking for opportunities to bring the latest technology to our tech-savvy users as soon as we feel it meets our high standards,” OnePlus founder and CEO said. “With the upcoming OnePlus 8T, we are once again raising the bar for ourselves in terms of the overall user experience, thanks to some new features that we are excited to introduce for the first time in a OnePlus device. I am confident that the OnePlus 8T will once again exceed expectations and deliver an unparalleled flagship experience.”

OnePlus had been launching two flagships handsets each year for several years now, one in the spring and one in the fall. But this year the firm mixed things up by releasing two handsets, the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, together in the spring, and then a lower-end handset, the Nord, this past summer. The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro were also significantly more expensive than previous OnePlus phones, largely because of their expensive 5G compatible chipsets, but they still nicely undercut the Apple and Samsung flagships.

The OnePlus 8T will be this year’s fall release and, like most smartphones these days, it has been leaked all over the place, so it’s no surprise that the company is simply confirming the expected name and confirming that it’s a new flagship. It’s expected to deliver a Snapdragon 865 or 865+ processor, a 6.55-inch edge-to-edge display with a hole-punch selfie camera, a quad-camera system on the rear, and 65-watt Warp Charge capabilities.
