Regular Motorola Moto G8 leaks with three rear cameras, new design
Motorola typically launches new Moto G smartphones once every twelve months but this year the Lenovo-owned company is adopting a new strategy. Just eight months after it introduced the Moto G7 series, Motorola is preparing to release Moto G8 series which is the subject of today’s leak.
Courtesy of MobielKopen, a new set of renders showcases the regular Motorola Moto G8 in its entirety. The device unsurprisingly looks a lot like the Moto G8 Plus that leaked yesterday but is ultimately a blend of recent Motorola One phones with no traces of the Moto G7 that it succeeds.
Kicking things off with a look at the rear, the Moto G8 adopts a vertical triple-camera setup that’s home to an unspecified main camera, an ultra-wide-angle camera that enables a 117-degree field-of-view, and what’s presumed to be a dedicated depth sensor for improved bokeh imagery.
The setup is paired with an LED flash and sits alongside the Motorola logo which itself is home to a fingerprint scanner. However, this model ditches the dedicated laser autofocus system that’s present on the Plus-branded model.
Moving over to the front, Motorola appears to have equipped the Moto G8 with the same 6.2-inch displays that’s present on the recently announced Motorola One Macro. It’s possible, though, that the Chicago-based brand may have upped the resolution. After all, the Moto G7 features a 1080p panel whereas the One Macro keeps costs down with a 720p alternative.
