Samsung’s lineup of 5G smartphones only incorporates the Galaxy S10 5G at the moment but pretty soon it’ll be expanded to include both the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Note 10 5G. All of these devices are undoubtedly impressive but they also tend to come with pretty high price tags attached, hence why the Galaxy A90 is being developed.

Just like the brand’s aforementioned 5G flagship, the Galaxy A90 is rumored to include a massive 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display. But in a bid to keep costs down, the curved edge panel has apparently been swapped out for a more traditional flat display with a lower 2400 x 1080p resolution. Another difference is set to include the presence of a cheaper optical fingerprint scanner beneath the screen.

Following in the footsteps of Samsung’s other Galaxy A-branded smartphones, the Galaxy A90’s set to adopt a rear panel that’s carved out of glossy plastic rather than glass. This should be home to a vertical camera setup in the top-left corner that’ll reportedly house three separate sensors. Specifically, a primary 48-megapixel snapper much like the one on the Galaxy A80 is to be expected alongside an 8-megapixel super-wide-angle shooter and a 5-megapixel depth sensor for improved portrait photography.

Samsung Galaxy A90 specs and release date

Although Samsung has reportedly made a number of external downgrades to the device, the South Korean giant has apparently stayed true to the flagship title where it matters.
As corroborated by Ice Universe, the Galaxy A90 will ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 on the inside which will be paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Also expected is a large 4,500mAh battery in addition to support for 45W fast charging.

The Samsung Galaxy A90 will apparently be released in September or October. This means that an announcement at IFA in early September is extremely possible.
