Tips and picks
Tip of the week: Use some common sense when it comes to game streaming services
With this week’s Stadia news, the Chicken Littles are out in force again. Relax.
App pick of the week: iCloud Passwords
You can now use iCloud for passwords on Windows. Here’s why.
Also: Vivaldi adds a second tab row for tab groups. And it already supports vertical tabs!
Enterprise pick of the week: Roadmapwatch.com
Roadmapwatch.com is a site developed by someone at Microsoft and is meant to make keeping up with the many Office 365 changes easier. There is an RSS feed that makes tracking new and updated features on a daily basis a lot clearer and simpler.
Codename pick of the week: JET Blue
Microsoft has open sourced JET Blue, a k a its Extensible Storage Engine. They’re not yet accepting community contributions to it, but will do so in the future. This got me thinking about JET Blue vs. JET Red – a big topic among MS watchers back in the day. JET Blue is the db used by Exchange, Windows and a bunch of other MS products. JET Red was used by Access. JET = Joint Engine Technology (a form of ISAM)
Beer pick of the week: The Bruery: Bakery: Coconut Macaroons
Coconut Macaroons is an imperial stout from The Bruery in Calif . This is a very sweet, bourbon-barrel-aged so-called “pastry stout” made with coconut and vanilla. It’s 13% and if you love macaroons, worth a try. It’s available in cans, too, for your quarantine pleasure.
