TicWatch Pro 4G LTE for Verizon goes official, Amazon will sell it
Mobvoi, the company behind the TicWatch brand, has just announced its first-ever 4G LTE smartwatch, the TicWatch Pro 4G LTE. The new wearable device will be available for purchase starting today for $300.
Customers will be able to buy it from Amazon and Mobvoi’s online store. Although the smartwatch will only work on Verizon’s network, the carrier will not sell the TicWatch Pro 4G LTE directly. According to Mobvoi, those who buy the smartwatch will be able to activate the 4G LTE feature one month later, so they can only use the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options for the time being.
On the bright side, between July 10 and August 10, anyone interested can purchase the TicWatch Pro 4G LTE at an early adopter price of $280, so they’ll be saving $20. Specs-wise, this a re-engineered version of the standard TicWatch Pro smartwatch, which received 4G LTE support and a couple of other new features like Number Sharing and Cloud Synchronization.
The TicWatch Pro 4G LTE is powered by Google’s Wear OS and promises to offer up to 30 days of battery life when Essential Mode is enabled. The smartwatch will use a special technology that layers a low power consuming LCD display on top of the standard OLED display when Essential Mode is active.
Google Assistant and Google Pay for NFC (Near Field Communication) payments are included as well, along with heart rate monitoring sensor and a brand new safety feature called “SOS,” which can dial 911 and broadcast the owner’s location to a 911 call center at the same time in the event of an emergency. All with just a tap of a button.
Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro 4G LTE features IP68+ certification, which means it’s shockproof and swim-friendly. On the inside, the smartwatch packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage and a 415mAh battery. The TicWatch Pro 4G LTE sports a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and a second FSTN LCD screen that’s used when Essential Mode is enabled.
