The 2019 Apple iPhone models are expected to be unveiled on September 10th, but we already have a good idea of what to expect. Thanks to various renders and leaks the new models are coming into focus, and now an unofficial video shows mockups of both the 6.1-inch (LCD) iPhone and the iPhone 11 Pro. The latter should come in two screen sizes (5.8-inches and 6.5-inches), both with AMOLED panels. All three phones will feature the square camera module found in the upper left corner of the rear glass panel. Based on previous rumors and leaks, the iPhone 11 will be equipped with two cameras (Primary + Telephoto with 2x optical zoom) while the iPhone Pro models will feature the same pair of cameras with an additional ultra-wide-angle camera included. The latter is said to have a 120º field of view.
Last week
we passed along a comprehensive report about the new phones, which stated that that the revamped cameras will be able to deliver photographs matching the quality of those snapped with “some traditional cameras.” And it appears as though Apple has been working hard to improve photos taken by an iPhone under less than optimal lighting conditions. The same report notes that a new feature will allow iPhone users to edit video in real-time.

All three models will be powered by the 7nm A13 Bionic chipset and battery capacities are expected to get a bump in the range of 5%-20%; Apple is increasing the size of the batteries in order to support the expected reverse
wireless charging feature. This will allow the back of a 2019 iPhone to be used as a wireless charging pad to power up
AirPods in a wireless charging case, the
Apple Watch or a compatible phone. This feature does use the host phone’s battery, and there is speculation that the iPhone 11 Pro (6.5-inch) will ship with a 4000mAh capacity battery; that would be the largest battery ever used on an iPhone.

Speaking about the battery, Apple is expected to keep the Lightning port on the new iPhones with a changeover to USB-C possibly in the works for 2020. However, the manufacturer will reportedly include an 18W fast
charger in the box along with a Type-C to
Lightning cable. Previously, Apple would place a 5W charging adapter in the box along with a new iPhone and charge $29 for the 18W brick in the Apple Store.
Another interesting part of the recent report on the 2019 iPhones indicates that Apple has been able to improve the water-resistance of its new handsets. Currently, the
iPhone XS and
iPhone XS Max are rated IP68 which means that they can be submerged in nearly 5-feet of water for as long as 30 minutes. The
iPhone XR is rated IP67 which allows it to be submerged in slightly over 3 feet of water for as long as 30-minutes. Earlier this year, a rumored Underwater Mode was tipped for the 2019 iPhones and would allow users to snap photos and navigate the touchscreen even while underwater (hence the name of the mode). A few weeks later, a patent application filed by Apple was published
revealing technology that would allow an iPhone to optimize underwater photographs.
The video starts by showing off a mockup of the iPhone 11 followed by the appearance of the iPhone 11 Pro (5.8-inch) model. The cases seen in the clip are made by accessory manufacturer Pitaka and are made of carbon fiber.
