Windows 10 Dev Channel Build Introduces a New Post-Update Experience
A new Windows 10 Insider Preview build provides our first peek at a coming change to the platform’s post-update experience.
“We know that it doesn’t always feel clear what changed with a major update, or even how you can learn about and try out new features and improvements,” Microsoft explains in a typically crafted Insider blog post. “This means that updates can feel time consuming [sic] without real benefit to you, and we want to change that.”
So here’s what’s changing. Now, when you’ve installed a feature update, Windows 10 will display a “new first run [sic] experience via the Tips app,” meaning that the Tips app will appear and display information about the new features and other changes.
Insiders in the Dev channel who wish to test this experience may need to enable it first: Navigate to Settings > System > Notifications & actions and make sure the option titled “Show me the Windows welcome experience” is checked. It’s available now in the U.S., UK, Australia, India, and Canada.
