Apple TV, Spotify Getting Big Updates on Xbox
Microsoft announced some big video-related updates to the Apple TV and Spotify apps on Xbox Series X|S, plus some new media apps.
“We know enjoying your favorite streaming content is just as fun as gaming,” Microsoft’s Will Tuttle writes. “With Xbox Series XIS, you can stream 4K video and bring your movies to life with rich, dynamic sound for an optimal viewing experience. We’re committed to constantly bringing you more ways to enjoy your streaming content and entertainment.”
This week, the Apple TV and Spotify apps are both getting big updates on Xbox. Apple TV will support Dolby Vision on compatible televisions, and some Apple TV+ content, like “Ted Lasso,” “Mythic Quest,” “For All Mankind,” “See,” and “The Mosquito Coast” will all support this premium HDR-like experience. And the Spotify app is being updated to support video podcasts in full screen or in the background.
Microsoft also announced that Discovery+, Paramount+, and IMDb TV are all available on Xbox now, and that more media titles would be coming to the platform this summer.
