Google I/O ‘21 is Virtual and Free to All
After skipping out on the 2020 rendition of its annual developer show because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Google I/O is back for 2021. There are just two major changes: The show will be virtual and anyone can attend for free.
“Join us May 18-20 for Google I/O live, online, and free for everyone,” Google CEO Sundar Pichai tweeted.
You can register now for this event at the Google I/O ‘21 website. Once you register, you can reserve Workshops and Ask Me Anything Sessions (AMAs) that Google will livestream in multiple time zones. The firm also promises personalized event suggestions and badges, access to live Q&As during sessions, and the ability to chat inside I/O Adventure.
Some of the topics Google will cover at the event include Accessibility, Android/Play, AR, Cloud, Firebase, Gaming, Open Source, Search, Ads, Assistant, Chrome OS, Flutter, IoT, Location/Maps, ML/AI, Payments, Web, Material Design, and Smart Home. But the full schedule will be posted later in April, Google says.
