New Apple Watch Nike edition launches in the US starting at $399
Apple is most likely done for the year as far as announcements of entirely new products are concerned, but today’s actually the official release day of a new variant of the company’s recently unveiled Series 5 smartwatch.
Simply called the Apple Watch Nike rather than the Nike+ or Nike+ Series 5, this fitness-friendly wearable device is available now online and in physical stores across the US, Puerto Rico, and “more than” 51 other countries and regions, as previewed by the Cupertino-based tech giant a few weeks back. Of course, the Nike-branded version doesn’t come with any exclusive activity and health tracking features or internal upgrades of some sort over “regular” Apple Watch Series 5 models.
The only things hardcore fans of the world’s largest supplier of athletic shoes and apparel will gain are a number of special watch faces, including one inspired by the “classic” Nike Windrunner jacket design, and your choice of a perforated Nike Sport Band or reflective Nike Sport Loop. You can go for a silver or space gray aluminum case, with Sport Band color combos ranging from pure platinum/black to black/pink blast, desert sand/black, royal pulse/black, and anthracite/black. That’s a lot of black paired with a couple of very snazzy hues and a few lower-profile shades.
As for Sport Loops, you can get them in desert sand/volt, pink blast/true berry, royal pulse/lava glow, summit white, and black flavors, the former three of which are guaranteed to turn quite a few heads at your local gym. No matter your case or band choice, you’re looking at spending as little as $399 in a 40mm size with GPS-only connectivity and as much as $529 as far as 44mm variants supporting cellular networks are concerned.
While most Series 5 Apple Watch Nike versions can be reserved on Apple’s US website for immediate store pickup, shipments are not an option if you’re in a hurry, taking several weeks or even months in the case of a few models that are either incredibly popular or trickier to manufacture for some reason.
