Windows 10 Redstone 5 Build 17730 Released
Microsoft has released another build of Redstone 5 to Insiders in the Fast Ring. The company released a new Redstone 5 build just earlier this week, so this is the second build of the week.
In terms of new features, there isn’t anything to be excited about in build 17730. Microsoft has officially enabled the new Your Phone experience today, which is available in build 17730 as well as build 17728 from earlier this week. “Android phone users, you can finally stop emailing yourself photos. Drag and drop that photo from your phone onto your PC. Copy, edit, or ink on that photo, right from your PC. With Your Phone app, live today for Windows Insiders, you get instant access to your Android’s most recent photos on your PC,” said Microsoft’s Dona Sarkar.
As Microsoft is nearing the public release of Redstone 5, it has started to test the update process with build 17730. Windows Insiders will now get the same experience as the public when there’s a new update to be installed. Windows 10 will automatically ask users to schedule the update for the first few days, and it will then provide users with the option to install the update outside of their active hours — just like regular Windows 10 users. Microsoft has made some significant improvements to the update experience with Redstone 5, so it will be interesting to see how the update experience works out going forward.
There are a number of other minor improvements included in build 17730, so make sure to check out the full changelog here.
